Since 1973 Lonely Planet’s ultimate goal has been to help more people from every background experience the joy of exploration because it builds a kinder, more inclusive, open-minded world.

Since 2016 I’ve had the pleasure of helping design Lonely Planet’s U.S. magazine and assist print marketing, visual design and product teams with projects ranging from branding, editorial design, art direction, photography, social media and advertising.

50th Anniversary Merch

As one of the many celebrations of Lonely Planet’s 50th year in 2023 I was tasked with exploring a variety of apparel options; ones that not only capitalized on recent rebrand elements but with a groovy touch to remind new and loyal fans of the decade that it all started.

Checking In

Instagram story screens for an Instagram video series covering the most interesting boutique hotels worldwide to discover their quirks and curiosities.

Lonely Planet Eats

Instagram carousel slides for a series that dives into a variety of culinary capitals and the history behind the dishes that helped put them on the map.

Article Series Badges

To give the website article series’ their own brand experience I assisted our travel editors with creating hero image badges to accompany the feeling, themes and individualism that each article series brings to Lonely Planet.

50th Anniversary Dinner

2023 was a big year for Lonely Planet as it marked the company’s 50th year in business serving as the world’s most trusted guidebook publisher. To give the invite and menu a special celebratory touch I incorporated multiple loose spot illustrations and a few typefaces that we use on social media.

Lonely Planet Magazine

In late 2016 I got my start at Lonely Planet on a small team assisting our lead designer with layouts for features, recurring sections, and social media shoots to promote every seasonal issue.

Unexpected Texas

Assets for a 10 week road trip social series for Travel Texas focusing on both small towns, large cities and how you too can plan a truly exciting itinerary in the Lone Star State.
